The Hiroki area of Suizenji Ezutsu Lake Park is located adjacent to tonight's TKU Ezutsu Lake Fireworks Festival launching site. The lower Ezutsu Lake, where underground waters from Mount Aso spring forth, has crystal-clear water, and the lakeside promenade is lush with greenery, making evening walks pleasant. Arriving early to secure a viewing spot allows you to enjoy the nighttime fireworks with ease. Becoming familiar with the lakeside atmosphere in daylight makes movement after dark much smoother. On fireworks festival day, food stalls will also be open, so you can arrange dinner here as well.

TKU 江津湖花火大会は、熊本市東区の下江津湖周辺・水前寺江津湖公園広木地区を会場に毎年開催される夏の大花火大会です。2026年は8月29日(土)19時15分から20時15分の1時間、約10,000発が夜空と湖面を彩ります。湖上または湖畔から打ち上がる花火は、静かな水面に映る逆さ花火と相まって、ほかでは見られない幻想的な景色を生み出します。スターマインや大玉が湖の広い水面を舞台に次々と開く様子は、街中の花火大会とは違う、自然と一体になったスケール感が魅力です。フィナーレの連発が水面と夜空を同時に染め上げる瞬間は、家族みんなの記憶に深く刻まれるはずです。
Tips
荒天時の開催可否は大会公式の発表で確認してください。終了後は会場周辺の道路と公共交通機関が大変混み合います。市電・バスは花火終了後しばらく時間をずらしてから乗るか、会場から少し歩いて混雑を避けるのがおすすめです。帰り道の湖畔は照明が少ないため、ライトを持参すると安心です。

About 10-15 minutes by bus or taxi from Suizenji Jojuen; about 20 minutes on foot. The park is free to enter. On fireworks day, crowds increase sharply from evening onwards, so arriving by around 4:00 PM makes it easier to secure a viewing spot. Confirm the locations of restrooms and exits while it's still light.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes required. The lakeside before sunset has pleasant breezes from the water, allowing you to enjoy the venue's atmosphere at leisure.
