On fireworks festival day, food stalls line the lakeside with summer festival favorites such as yakisoba, karaage, and shaved ice. The sunset over the lower Ezutsu Lake is a beautiful time as the water's surface transforms gradually from orange to indigo. Enjoy your family meal while gazing at the color gradation of the sky visible across the lake. As 7:00 PM approaches, crowds around you increase, and an excited anticipation fills the entire venue. This time before the fireworks also becomes a cherished memory of the day.

TKU 江津湖花火大会は、熊本市東区の下江津湖周辺・水前寺江津湖公園広木地区を会場に毎年開催される夏の大花火大会です。2026年は8月29日(土)19時15分から20時15分の1時間、約10,000発が夜空と湖面を彩ります。湖上または湖畔から打ち上がる花火は、静かな水面に映る逆さ花火と相まって、ほかでは見られない幻想的な景色を生み出します。スターマインや大玉が湖の広い水面を舞台に次々と開く様子は、街中の花火大会とは違う、自然と一体になったスケール感が魅力です。フィナーレの連発が水面と夜空を同時に染め上げる瞬間は、家族みんなの記憶に深く刻まれるはずです。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は大会公式の発表で確認してください。終了後は会場周辺の道路と公共交通機関が大変混み合います。市電・バスは花火終了後しばらく時間をずらしてから乗るか、会場から少し歩いて混雑を避けるのがおすすめです。帰り道の湖畔は照明が少ないため、ライトを持参すると安心です。

Tips

Food stall meals may sell out around 7:00 PM, so purchasing during the 5 PM hour provides peace of mind. Convenience stores in the vicinity become extremely crowded in the evening. It's recommended to bring extra drinks. Apply insect repellent thoroughly during this time.
