Stretching from around Odawara Station (小田原駅) to the Sakae-cho (栄町) area, this shopping district is lined with long-established kamaboko (fish cake) and dried-fish shops unique to Odawara. Odawara is known nationwide as a center of kamaboko production, and you can casually snack on freshly made fish-paste treats such as fried kamaboko and grilled chikuwa (fish-paste tubes) as you stroll. Some long-established shops offer factory tours or hands-on making experiences, making it an enjoyable time for children too. Doing your food-stall stroll thoroughly at this hour, before the evening crowds, also makes for a good bite to eat before the fireworks. It's reassuring to carry kamaboko or dried fish souvenirs in a cooler bag.

Tips

Within a 5-minute walk of Odawara Station (小田原駅). From evening onward on the day of the fireworks festival, the area around the station also gets crowded, so it's recommended to finish your souvenir shopping during this earlier time. A cooling agent or cooler bag lets you carry perishable items home with peace of mind. Business hours vary by shop.
