A temple of the Shingon Ritsu sect founded by Houjou Sanetoki in the Kamakura period, with a Pure Land style garden designated as a National Historic Site as its main attraction. Beyond the Nioumon gate, a large pond with a vermillion-painted arched bridge spreads before you, and the reflected scenery of seasonal trees on the water makes you forget you're in the city. The temple grounds are free to visit, and you can slowly stroll along the graveled paths. Since a library facility is adjacent to the grounds, history enthusiasts can also visit the museum. We recommend this quiet temple grounds as a place to gather your thoughts at the beginning of your bustling seaside day.

金沢まつり花火大会は、横浜市金沢区の夏の風物詩として地域に親しまれてきた花火大会です。東京湾に向かって開けた海の公園の砂浜から、約3,500発の花火を正面から見上げます。海の上に打ち上がる花火は遮るものがなく、大輪の光が夜空に広がったあと海面にも淡く映り込む様子が美しい海辺ならではの景観です。潮の香りと波の音の中で聞く打ち上げ音は、陸上の会場とはひと味違う迫力があります。1日の旅の最後に、家族そろって夜空を見上げる時間をゆっくり楽しみましょう。

開催日時は2026年8月22日(土)で時間は未定のため、当日は横浜市または大会主催者の公式発表で最新情報を確認してください。荒天時の対応も主催者発表に従ってください。終了後は金沢シーサイドラインの駅が大変混雑するため、終演後は砂浜で少し余韻を楽しんでから時間差で移動するのがおすすめ。帰り道の砂浜は暗いので足元に注意を。

Tips

About 12 minutes walk from Keikyu Kanazawa Bunko Station, or bus service from Kanazawa Hakkei Station is convenient. Temple grounds and garden walks are free. The adjacent Kanagawa Prefectural Kanazawa Bunko Museum requires separate admission. Paid parking lots are available nearby. On the day of the summer fireworks festival, this area is not yet crowded, so you can take your time viewing.
