A roadside station in Oono City where regional products of Echizen Oono gather, serving as a rest and shopping spot. Local vegetables, processed foods, Echizen soba, and local sake of Oono are available as souvenirs. A food corner offers light meals made with local ingredients, convenient for grabbing food before heading to the fireworks venue or stocking up drinks for takeaway. The view of Arajima Peak (荒島岳), one of Japan's 100 Famous Mountains, visible from the facility, is another characteristic landscape of Oono. It's an ideal spot to take it easy before evening.

おおの城まつりのクライマックスを飾る大花火大会で、大野市中保の会場から約3,000発が打ち上がります。越前大野は四方を山に囲まれた盆地のため、花火の音が山々にこだまして体の芯まで響く迫力は格別です。夜空に大きく開く尺玉や、連続して広がるスターマインが盆地の空を埋め尽くし、夏の越前大野の夜を一夜限りの光で染め上げます。城まつりの祭り囃子や地域の熱気とともに楽しむ花火は、都市部の大会とはひと味違う、山里の夏祭りならではの温かさがあります。

Tips

開催時間は大会公式の発表を必ず事前に確認してください。荒天時の開催可否も公式発表に従いましょう。終了後は会場周辺の道路が混雑するため、終演後はすぐに移動せずしばらく余韻を楽しんでから帰路につくと混雑を避けやすいです。JR越美北線の帰りの便は本数が少ないため、時刻表の確認を忘れずに。足元が暗いのでスマホのライトを活用してください。

About 10 minutes by car from the city center. The facility can get crowded on the day of the fireworks festival, so it's reassuring to take care of restroom breaks, dining, and shopping with enough time here.
