The floodplain extending upstream from the Wada Bridge (和田橋) along the Karasugawa River is the viewing area for the Takasaki Matsuri Grand Fireworks Festival. The expansive Karasugawa riverbank, with its wide channel, offers open skies—its main appeal. Food stalls set up on the grounds from evening, adding festive energy. After securing an early spot and spreading your leisure sheet, enjoy yakisoba or frankfurters purchased from stalls as dinner while awaiting the start. The evening breeze crossing the river is refreshing, and watching the sky gradually darken as the sun sets is a sight in itself. Strongly recommended: use restrooms early.

高崎まつりのフィナーレを飾る大花火大会は、約15,000発という北関東有数の打上数を誇る夏の一大イベントです。烏川の広い河川敷から見上げる花火は、遮るものがなく空全体に広がる開放感が最大の魅力。音と光が体に響く大玉の連発から繊細なスターマインまで、50分間にわたって夜空を絶え間なく彩ります。川面に映る花火の反射も美しく、大河川沿いの花火大会ならではの迫力と情緒が同時に楽しめます。フィナーレの怒涛の連発が夜空と川面を一斉に照らす瞬間は、この1日のクライマックスにふさわしい感動の光景です。
Tips
荒天時の開催可否および順延については高崎市の公式発表で当日確認を。終了後は高崎駅方面へ向かう人で歩道が大変混み合うため、フィナーレ後しばらく河川敷で余韻を楽しんでから移動する時間差帰宅がおすすめです。帰路の足元は暗いので小さなライトがあると安心。電車を利用する場合はJR高崎線・上越新幹線・両毛線などの臨時増発の有無を事前に確認しておきましょう。

About 20 minutes on foot from Takasaki Station or by local bus to the nearest stop. Arriving by car is not recommended—parking lots around the venue fill early. Strongly recommend using public transport. Temporary restrooms will be crowded; use them early before the show starts. Follow official instructions for reserved seating areas.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 35 minutes required. At dusk, river breezes cool the floodplain—one of the most comfortable times of the day.
