As the 5:30 PM opening approaches, the viewing areas become increasingly crowded, so finishing your meal during this time while securing a spot is the ideal plan. Since sunset comes early in November—it's already darkening in the 4 PM hour—putting on warm clothing early is recommended. Spreading out a leisure sheet and draping a blanket over your lap while waiting for the opening is one of the unique pleasures of a fireworks competition.

土浦全国花火競技大会は大曲・長岡と並び日本三大花火競技大会のひとつに数えられる、歴史と格式ある大会です。2026年11月7日(土)17時30分から20時まで、桜川畔の学園大橋付近を会場に約20,000発が打ち上げられます。単なる観覧型の花火大会と異なり、全国から選抜された花火師たちが「スターマイン」「10号玉」などの部門ごとに技を競う本格的な競技形式で、一発一発に職人の技術と美意識が凝縮されています。11月の澄み切った夜空は花火の色彩を鮮明に映し出し、夏の花火大会とはひと味違う静謐な迫力があります。フィナーレに向けて積み重なっていく興奮と、最後の大スターマインが夜空を塗りつぶす瞬間は、この大会ならではのクライマックスです。

有料観覧席と無料観覧エリアがあります。有料席は公式サイトからの事前購入が必要で、人気のため早期完売することがあります。無料エリアは当日先着のため早めの場所確保を。荒天時の開催可否は大会公式の発表を確認してください。終了後は土浦駅方面への道と交通が大変混雑するため、終演後は少し時間を置いてから移動するか、事前に帰りの電車の時刻を複数確認しておきましょう。
