Kabutoyama Park (兜山公園) sits on a hill that is a symbol of Kumihama (久美浜), named for a mountain shape resembling a samurai helmet. From the lookout you can take in the calm surface of Kumihama Bay (久美浜湾) and the surrounding countryside, getting a preview of the sea you are heading to. The well-maintained walking paths include sections that can be covered in a short time, so it is easy to stop by even with small children. In the clear summer air, take a breather as a family while enjoying the view.

京丹後市に位置する小天橋・葛野浜海水浴場は、2026年は7月18日(土)から8月23日(日)まで、9時から17時まで開設されます。白く続く遠浅の砂浜と透明度の高い日本海の海水浴が楽しめる、地元でも人気のビーチです。遊泳は無料で、シャワー(水は無料・温水は有料)やトイレ、脱衣所、浜店1店舗も整っており、小さな子ども連れでも安心して過ごせます。波打ち際での水遊びから砂のお城づくりまで、夕方までたっぷり楽しめる、この1日コースのクライマックスです。
Tips
駐車場は普通車1日1,500円。シャワーは水が無料、温水は有料なので、着替え用の小銭を用意しておくと安心です。営業終了は17時のため、片付けや着替えの時間を見込んで16時45分ごろには切り上げましょう。
Tips
About 5 minutes by car from Kandani Tachinomiya Shrine (神谷太刀宮神社). Part of the path to the lookout is unpaved, so sneakers are easier to walk in than sandals. Some stretches have little shade, so do not forget a hat and water.
Best time to visit
About 45 minutes. The morning, before the temperature peaks, is recommended
