Standing on the shore of Kumihama Bay (久美浜湾), Kumihama SANKAIKAN Roadside Station (道の駅くみはまSANKAIKAN) is a direct-sales market lined with locally caught seafood, fresh vegetables and souvenirs unique to Kyotango (京丹後). At the dining area inside you can taste dishes made with oysters raised in Kumihama Bay and other local ingredients, perfect for a solid meal before sea bathing. Because you can shop and eat at the same time, it is just the right rest spot for switching from morning sightseeing to afternoon swimming. Cold drinks and ice cream are also available, handy for stocking up against the heat.

京丹後市に位置する小天橋・葛野浜海水浴場は、2026年は7月18日(土)から8月23日(日)まで、9時から17時まで開設されます。白く続く遠浅の砂浜と透明度の高い日本海の海水浴が楽しめる、地元でも人気のビーチです。遊泳は無料で、シャワー(水は無料・温水は有料)やトイレ、脱衣所、浜店1店舗も整っており、小さな子ども連れでも安心して過ごせます。波打ち際での水遊びから砂のお城づくりまで、夕方までたっぷり楽しめる、この1日コースのクライマックスです。

Tips

駐車場は普通車1日1,500円。シャワーは水が無料、温水は有料なので、着替え用の小銭を用意しておくと安心です。営業終了は17時のため、片付けや着替えの時間を見込んで16時45分ごろには切り上げましょう。

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from Kabutoyama Park (兜山公園), and about 10 minutes by car to Shotenkyo and Kadonohama Beach (小天橋・葛野浜海水浴場) as well. It gets crowded at lunchtime during the summer holidays, so entering early in the noon hour is recommended. Drinks and frozen treats can be taken to the beach and enjoyed there.
