About this spot

This massive rock, about 20 meters tall, stands offshore of Yura Beach, and has long been cherished as a local scenic spot for its commanding presence. It sits on the Yura shoreline, also known as the setting for the legend of Anju and Zushio, and you can view it up close from the sandy beach. After enjoying the rock's powerful presence while walking along the water's edge, grab a bite to eat at a nearby restaurant, and then it's finally time to head to Kanzaki Beach for the afternoon. The view with the sea right in front of you will help build the mood for the swim ahead.

Tips

The footing on the sandy beach can narrow at high tide, so pay attention to the time of day. Having lunch early at a restaurant in the Yura area will let you enjoy the afternoon swim at a relaxed pace.
