This Tokoname-yaki (常滑焼) complex is marked by a giant, 3-meter-tall beckoning cat standing at the entrance. Built around the concept of see, make, learn, and buy, it offers one of the largest selections among Tokoname-yaki retailers, along with five types of pottery classes, including electric wheel-throwing, hand-building, and painting. It also carries local Tokoname specialties, so it is worth stopping by for a hands-on taste of Tokoname craftsmanship before heading on to Rinku Beach (りんくうビーチ).
Tips
It is located along the way to Rinku Beach (りんくうビーチ). The eatery can get crowded at lunchtime, so aim to arrive in the early 12pm hour. At the direct-sale market, you can also buy local vegetables and seafood.
Best time to visit
About 45 minutes. It is convenient to stop by around lunchtime, before heading to the beach.
