About this spot

A mixed-use shopping complex in front of JR Kashiwazaki Station (柏崎駅), housing restaurants and shops. It comes at just the right moment to have a proper meal before your swim, and the air-conditioned interior also suits a break during the hottest hours of summer. Sorting out the toilets and topping up on drinks before heading to the sea makes the afternoon far more comfortable. Its position in front of Kashiwazaki Station makes it convenient by public transport as well as by car.

Tips

The journey to Kashiwazaki Chuo Beach (柏崎中央海水浴場) is by car, so check you have left nothing behind after lunch before setting off. The beach has no shop, so topping up on drinks and snacks here is reassuring.

Best time to visit

About 45 minutes. Getting it done in the 12:00 hour before the beach leaves plenty of afternoon
