A science museum located about 15 minutes by car from the Hashidate district, near Katayamazu Hot Spring on the shores of Lake Shibayama. It introduces the achievements of physicist Nakaya Ukichiro, who was the first in the world to create artificial snow crystals. Snow crystal models and experimental devices to experience the mysteries of ice are displayed. Experiencing the cool theme of snow and ice in summer is a unique way to enjoy the hot season. Taking a break inside the museum and having lunch to prepare for afternoon swimming will make the rest of your day flow smoothly.
Tips
Travel by car between the Hashidate district and this museum. The museum is air-conditioned, making it a perfect rest stop to cool down after outdoor summer walks. Light meals are also available along nearby Lake Shibayama.
