Kogaigahama (小貝ヶ浜)

Flow of the course

About this spot

A rocky coastline within Ishihama Prefectural Natural Park, located close to Ishihama Beach. Crabs, small fish, and shellfish hide in the tide pools formed among the rocks, and children can become absorbed just peering closely into them. If you choose a time when the waves are calm, even small children can safely walk between the rocks and enjoy observing the creatures. It's a spot where you can experience a different kind of seaside fun from the sandy beach before swimming.

Tips

The rocks can be slippery, so it's recommended to wear beach sandals or water shoes rather than going barefoot. Please gently return any creatures you observe to where you found them. At high tide there are fewer tide pools, so a time closer to low tide is better suited for exploring.

Best time to visit

About 45 minutes. Timing your visit with the morning low tide reveals more tide pools to enjoy.
