About this spot

This community park sits atop a small hill east of Zenko-ji Temple and is known as a scenic spot overlooking Nagano City. It features open plazas and playground equipment, making it a good place for children to run around. On clear November days, you may be able to see the Northern Alps and the Hokushin Five Peaks (北信五岳) rising beyond the city, offering a refreshing view unique to this season. Within walking distance of Zenko-ji, it is a perfect spot to extend your visit after worshipping. You can also spot the Sai River (犀川) area, the fireworks venue, from here, letting you picture the evening's display in advance.

Tips

About 10 minutes on foot from the Zenko-ji grounds. Admission is free. There are restrooms in the park, which is convenient to factor into your plans before the fireworks. The playground area is enjoyable for small children too, but remember to dress warmly, as this is a cold time of year.
