About this spot

An arcade shopping street in central Kagoshima with one of the largest scales in Kyushu. Gathered here are restaurants serving Kagoshima's signature dishes—kurobuta (black pork) cuisine, Kagoshima ramen, shirokuma (kakigori/shaved ice)—perfect for fueling up before swimming. The arcade is designed to protect from rain and sun, making it easy for families with young children to navigate. After eating, return to the Iso area for the afternoon's main event: the beach.

Tips

Sengan Garden and Shoko Shuseikan are 15–20 minutes away by car or bus. The arcade is comfortable even in rain. Since you're heading to the beach, eat moderately but hydrate well beforehand.

Best time to visit

Approximately 1 hour. After noon, many restaurants are open and easier to choose from.
