About this spot

This hot-spring ryokan in Ichibu, Isawa-cho, Fuefuki City, has its own naturally flowing spring on the property, called Kanjuku no Yu (完熟の湯), meaning fully ripened bath. Its pH 8.5 alkaline simple spring water is used 100% flow-through, without recirculation, dilution, or reheating, and the source water is piped not only to all the baths but also to the taps and showers. The large baths, Kaki no Yu (柿の湯, Persimmon Bath) and Momo no Yu (桃の湯, Peach Bath), plus the private open-air bath Budo no Yu (ぶどうの湯, Grape Bath), let you fully rest legs tired from walking. You can spend a moment before the fireworks in the relaxed atmosphere so typical of Isawa Onsen.

Tips

Within walking distance from Onmyoji Temple. Bringing a towel makes the footbath easier to use. In the evening, shops start getting crowded with people here for the fireworks, so it's reassuring to finish shopping early. You can reach the next stop, the riverbed, on foot or by car.
