This park spreads along the Nara River (奈良川), which flows right beside Kihoku Town Hall. Along the river is a spacious riverbed plaza that's also used for events, and the renewed Wanpaku Hiroba features a maze that follows the town's mascot. In autumn, the riverbed plaza hosts the town's major event, Dechikonka, making this the central plaza of Kihoku Town. In this quiet setting surrounded by satoyama countryside, you can move around freely before the summer festival and fireworks begin.
Tips
The current and water depth vary by location, so young children should be accompanied by an adult. It's a good idea to bring clothes you don't mind getting wet, along with a towel and a change of clothes. If the water level rises, please avoid entering the river.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 30 minutes. The strong afternoon sun makes it a pleasant time for water play.
