About this spot
A shrine known for having its main hall buried by lava from the 1983 Miyake Island eruption, with only the top of the torii gate protruding. Together with the newly rebuilt main hall, the original torii gate buried by lava is preserved as-is, quietly telling the story of the great power of nature. The sight of a torii gate standing in the midst of the black lava field is an impressive landscape found only on Miyake Island.

三宅島の夏を彩る、マリンスコーレ21フェスティバルの締めくくりとなる花火大会です。錆ヶ浜港の夜空に花火が打ち上がり、静かな島の夜を華やかに彩ります。打ち上げ数の公表はありませんが、火山島ならではの自然と歴史を1日かけて巡ったあとに見上げる花火は、忘れられない特別なひとときになるはずです。周囲に高い建物が少ない島ならではの、遮るもののない花火の眺めも魅力です。
Tips
荒天時は中止となる場合があるため、当日の開催可否は三宅村の公式発表で確認しましょう。島内は街灯が少ないため、懐中電灯を持参すると安心です。船やヘリコミューターの時刻を事前に確認しておきましょう。

It's only a short walk from the parking lot. The lava field has unstable footing in some areas, so observe safely without venturing into dangerous areas. In summer, there is little shade, so bringing a hat is recommended.
