About this spot

The center of Taiki Town is lined with shops and restaurants rooted in the local community. It's an area perfect for a stroll while soaking in a modest, calm town atmosphere, quite different from a bustling tourist destination. Let your body rest with a leisurely walk after the gold-panning experience. On the day of the festival, you can also feel the whole town gradually being wrapped in the festival mood.

Tips

About a 5-minute drive from the Rekifune River (歴舟川) venue. Business hours vary by shop, so it's reassuring to check in advance. Traffic restrictions may be in effect on the day of the festival, so allow extra time for getting around.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour needed. The afternoon, when the sunlight softens a little, is an easy time to stroll.
