About this spot

One of Yamaguchi's leading hot spring towns, spread along the banks of the clear-flowing Kose River. With a long history since it opened, inns and footbaths dot the riverside, letting you enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of a hot spring town. Soaking your feet in a free footbath partway through your stroll is a perfect way to soothe legs tired from walking along the coast. Spend a leisurely summer afternoon in the cool shade and hot-spring-town atmosphere.

Tips

It's convenient to travel here by car from Ryugu no Shiofuki. Bringing a towel makes using the footbaths more comfortable. Some parts of the hot spring town have slopes and steps, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 15 minutes. The soft afternoon light makes strolling along the river especially pleasant.
