Overlook Saigo Port and the Sea of Japan from the cape observation platform
About this spot
A park area developed on a cape jutting out at the entrance of Saigo Bay, offering views of nearby Saigo Port and mountain ranges extending from Daimanzenji, Oki's highest peak, to Kuzuoson in the background. Part of the Oki UNESCO Global Geopark, including the Saigo Cape basalt blow-hole and lighthouse, the observation platform offers a panoramic view of the sea, port town, and island landscape at a glance. Viewing the port where tonight's fireworks will take place from the cape during daylight is a unique aspect of this course.

2026年8月1日(土)開催、隠岐諸島の玄関口・西郷港を舞台にした夏の花火祭りです。中町目貫の会場は港のすぐそばにあり、花火が夜空と海面の両方を彩る景観が楽しめます。島の夏を締めくくる恒例の催しとして、地元の人々や観光客が集う華やかな夜です。離島ならではの澄んだ夜空に打ち上がる花火は、本土の花火大会とはまたひと味違う趣があります。
Tips
荒天時は中止や延期の可能性があるため、当日は隠岐の島町の公式発表で開催可否を確認を。終了後は港周辺の道が混み合うため、時間差での帰宅がおすすめです。海沿いは風が涼しいので羽織ものがあると安心です。
Tips
Travel by car from Tamayakuzu-no-Inomikoto Shrine toward the cape's tip. Parking, restrooms, and benches are provided, making it suitable for a rest stop. The observation platform requires a short walk on a well-maintained trail, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour. The afternoon hours with a pleasant sea breeze are recommended.
