About this spot

This red, tower-shaped lighthouse stands on the breakwater near Suga Park (須賀公園), at the head of Mitsukue Bay (三机湾). Lit in 1951, it stands about 9.2 meters above the ground, and its light reaches roughly 8 kilometers out to sea. The breakwater is also popular as a fishing spot, and along the path to the lighthouse you can take in the cape where Fusumabana Lighthouse (襖鼻灯台) stands. Amid the peaceful scenery of a port where traditional fishing still continues, take a leisurely family stroll here after your time at the water.

Tips

Within walking distance of Mitsukue Beach (三机海岸). Since this is a working fishing port, please view quietly from the edge of the harbor so as not to get in the way.
