Stroll through the pine tree avenue retaining the traces of the Edo period Tokaido
About this spot
A historically important natural monument designated as Japan's natural treasure, with pine trees planted along the Tokaido during the Edo period still remaining today. The sight of large pine trees lining for about 600 meters conveys the landscape where travelers once walked. The shaded path remains relatively cool even in summer, making it perfect for a leisurely family stroll. Walking through and feeling the history of Oily, which flourished as a post town on the old Tokaido, creates a quiet moment.
