Tochigi City's center, which prospered as a river transport hub during the Edo period, still features numerous black-lacquered earthen storehouses and merchant houses. Known as the "Little Edo of Kanto," this charming town is perfect for leisurely strolling along the scenic Uzuma River. Pleasure boats offer views of the buildings from the river, and scattered traditional sweet shops and cafes provide opportunities for refreshment breaks.

2026年8月1日(土)17時から20時まで、都賀総合運動場で開催される「TSUGA盆2026」です。第49回を数える市民盆踊り大会と第26回花火大会が同時に楽しめる、地域に根ざした夏祭りで、太鼓の音に合わせて踊りの輪が広がる盆踊りは家族での飛び入り参加もできます。日が暮れると約1,000発の花火が次々と打ち上がり、盆踊りのにぎわいとともに夏の夜を彩ります。蔵の街や山の古刹めぐりで栃木市の魅力にふれた1日の締めくくりにふさわしいフィナーレです。

Tips

荒天時は中止となる場合があるため、当日の実施状況は栃木市の公式発表で確認しましょう。盆踊りは17時台から始まるので、早めの到着で輪の中に参加するのもおすすめです。終了後は駐車場からの退出が混み合うことがあります。

Tips

About 20 minutes by car from Michi-no-Eki Nishikata. The town is flat and easy to walk, even with strollers. Note that some streets have limited shade in summer, so plan frequent breaks.
