About this spot
One of the main stations of the Oi River Railway, known for SL train operations. Around the station area, you can sometimes view SL locomotives with steam rising while on standby, making it a popular spot for railway-loving children. The shop also sells SL merchandise and souvenirs, perfect for a souvenir stop.

2026年8月1日(土)開催、第39回を迎える大井川大花火大会です。大井川の広い河川敷を舞台に、約10,000発の花火が2時間にわたって夜空を彩ります。次々と打ち上がる花火が広い夜空いっぱいに広がる様子は、開けた河川敷ならではの大迫力です。「越すに越されぬ大井川」の歴史を持つこの川のほとりで見上げる花火は、島田の夏の風物詩として長く親しまれています。
Tips
荒天時は中止・順延となる場合があるため、当日の開催可否は主催の発表で確認を。終了後は周辺道路が大変混雑するため、時間差での帰宅がおすすめです。足元が暗いので懐中電灯があると安心です。
