2026年8月1日(土)開催、第39回を迎える大井川大花火大会です。大井川の広い河川敷を舞台に、約10,000発の花火が2時間にわたって夜空を彩ります。次々と打ち上がる花火が広い夜空いっぱいに広がる様子は、開けた河川敷ならではの大迫力です。「越すに越されぬ大井川」の歴史を持つこの川のほとりで見上げる花火は、島田の夏の風物詩として長く親しまれています。
Tips
荒天時は中止・順延となる場合があるため、当日の開催可否は主催の発表で確認を。終了後は周辺道路が大変混雑するため、時間差での帰宅がおすすめです。足元が暗いので懐中電灯があると安心です。

About 10 minutes by car from Shin-Kanaya Station. For such a large fireworks festival, get food early. Early arrival for spot selection is recommended.
Best time to visit
Takes about 1 hour 15 minutes. The changing colors of the sky around sunset are also noteworthy.
