About this spot

This is a green space maintained by Shimada City on the Oigawa riverbed, a spacious sports area lined with an athletics field, a soccer field, and six softball fields. Tonight, this riverbed becomes the venue for the fireworks festival. Given the scale of about 10,000 fireworks, many people arrive early on the day to secure a spot. As the sun sets, the sky turns a deep reddish-orange, and the surroundings gradually fill with people waiting for the festival. Spread out your takeout meal and relax while building anticipation for the night's fireworks.

Tips

About a 10-minute drive from Shin-Kanaya Station on the Oigawa Railway. Because this is a large-scale fireworks festival, it is reassuring to pick up food and drink early. Arriving early to secure a spot is recommended.

Takes about 1 hour 15 minutes. The changing colors of the sky around sunset are also a highlight
