Built atop Hachimanzan Mountain overlooking the town of Gujo Hachiman, this is considered Japan's oldest existing wooden reconstructed castle. The stone walls and museum are also impressive, and you can experience the region's history through displays of Gujo Odori festival costumes. Tips

荒天時の開催可否は大会公式の発表で確認しましょう。終了後は駅や駐車場までの道が混み合うため、少し余韻を楽しんでから移動するのがおすすめです。足元が暗いのでスマホのライトなどを用意すると安心です。

Tips

From Gujo Hachiman Station, it's about a 10-minute drive or bus ride; the walk from the castle parking lot to the main tower is about 10 minutes uphill, so comfortable shoes are recommended. In summer, the sun is strong, so don't forget a hat and drinks. On event days, tourist numbers increase, so visiting during the cool morning hours is also a good option.
