Next stop: Views over the Gonokawa River and the Sea of Japan, and a visit to Hitomaru ShrineAbout this spot
A roadside station on the coast of Gotsu City (江津市), popular for a direct-sales area stocked with locally caught seafood, seasonal vegetables and processed goods. Simply looking around at ingredients particular to the Iwami (石見) region lifts the travel mood, and calling in during the morning makes for a light break before heading to the pool. There is a food and drink corner inside as well, where families can have a light meal. The car park is large, which makes it easy to stop by — another point families appreciate.
Tips
It can be busy with shoppers on summer-holiday weekends, so the period right after opening is relatively relaxed for browsing. Since you have not yet entered the pool, gathering everything you need for the day here, such as drinks and sunscreen, keeps things simple.
Best time to visit
About 30 to 40 minutes. The morning slot right after opening is calm for browsing
