About this spot

This is the shore of Yawatahama Port, the venue for the Minato Fireworks Festival. As evening approaches, food stalls line up, filling the area with the lively atmosphere unique to one of Shikoku's leading fishing port towns. Settle in along the port and fill up on stall food or takeout dinner before the fireworks begin. As the sun sets, watching the port lined with fishing boats turn shades of sunset is one of the highlights.

Tips

About a 10-minute drive from the shopping streets of downtown Yawatahama. The area around the port becomes very crowded from evening onward on the day of the fireworks festival, so it is recommended to secure your spot early. It is also a good idea to get your food and drinks ahead of time.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 15 minutes. The transition from sunset to nightfall is a highlight.
