About this spot

This strolling-style Japanese garden, built during the Taisho era, sits right by the Nishio Castle ruins. Trees and stone lanterns are arranged around a central pond, creating a quiet space where you can enjoy the scenery of each season. It's a lovely spot to catch a relaxed breather with your family in the middle of a lively walk through town. The garden is compact, so you can fully take in its atmosphere even in a short visit.

Tips

About a 5-minute walk from Nishio City Historical Park. The grounds have little unevenness and are easy to walk, but watch your footing after rain. You'll need a car to get to the next stop, the roadside station.

Best time to visit

About 45 minutes. Plenty of shade makes it comfortable even on a summer afternoon.
