A shrine nestled at the base of Mount Kaimon that has been revered as Satsuma's principal shrine since ancient times. The vermillion shrine building and lush grounds are beautiful, and simply walking the approach path brings a sense of serenity. The view of Mount Kaimon rising above the grounds is also a highlight, offering a unique atmosphere where mountain and shrine become one. It's also recommended to quietly contemplate this location where tonight's fireworks will illuminate the mountainside.

2026年8月11日(火)開催、薩摩富士とも呼ばれる開聞岳のふもとで行われる花火大会です。約1,100発の花火が山の稜線を背景に打ち上がり、海辺の花火大会とは違う、静かで力強い迫力を感じられます。山に囲まれた立地のため花火の音が反響し、体の芯まで響くような臨場感も魅力です。フィナーレの連発を見届けたら、家族で夏の思い出を胸に帰路につきましょう。

Tips

荒天時は中止や延期の可能性があるため、当日は指宿市の公式発表を確認しましょう。終了後は駐車場や周辺道路が混み合うため、少し時間を置いてからの移動がおすすめです。山麓の夜道は暗いので足元にご注意を。

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from Karasenkyō Sōmen Nagashi. The grounds are free to visit. Summer afternoons have intense sun, so don't forget a hat and water.
