About this spot

Located north of the Nezaki district, this Ayukawa district beach is known for its charming scenery of rocky shores and highly transparent water. Along with Sekinai and Tomarikawa, this district is one of the settings for the Nezaki Shrine Grand Festival, and it's worth taking your time to view the local scenery before the festival. On calm days, searching for small creatures hiding among the rocks can also be an enjoyable pastime.

Tips

Some parts of the rocky shore can be slippery, so wear comfortable walking shoes when visiting. There's almost no shade, so it's important to hydrate frequently. The surrounding area is a quiet village, so please be mindful that it's a living space for local residents.

Best time to visit

About 50 minutes. The soft afternoon light beautifully illuminates the sea surface.
