捕鯨の町として知られる鮎川浜で、海の恵みに感謝して開かれる夏祭りです。捕鯨船前の広場を会場に、地域の団体による演舞やイベントが行われ、港町らしい活気に満ちた雰囲気に包まれます。かつて日本有数の捕鯨基地として栄えた歴史を持つ鮎川ならではの祭りで、地元の人々の海への感謝の気持ちが込められています。夜になると広場には提灯が灯り、太平洋の向こうに金華山のシルエットが浮かび上がる幻想的な光景が広がります。

会場周辺は駐車スペースが限られるため、鮎川港周辺での早めの駐車がおすすめです。海沿いの夜は風が強くなることもあるので、羽織ものを用意しておくと安心です。荒天時は内容が変更になる可能性があるため、当日の案内を確認しましょう。
