An observatory along the Cobalt Line, a scenic drive road running along the Oshika Peninsula's ridgeline, offering expansive Pacific Ocean views. The ocean vista that unfolds after winding through mountain roads is a highlight of the Oshika Peninsula drive. On clear days, you can see to the horizon, with an open, liberating atmosphere ideal for photography.
Tips
Mountain roads have sections with narrow lanes; drive carefully. Those prone to motion sickness should prepare medication. Parking at the observatory is limited; use spaces considerately.
Best time to visit
Approximately 45 minutes. As evening approaches, the ocean surface may shimmer with a golden glow.
