A workshop and museum transmitting the traditional Yatsuo washi (Japanese paper) making techniques. Colorful washi products with stencil dyeing are displayed, allowing you to understand the depth of Yatsuo washi as a traditional craft. You can sometimes observe papermaking processes, experiencing firsthand the hand-craftsmanship that supported the town's industries. Washi products perfect for souvenirs are also available for purchase.

300年以上の歴史を持つとされる越中八尾を代表する行事で、2026年は9月1日から3日までの3日間開催されます。石畳の坂道が続く諏訪町本通りを中心に、三味線と胡弓が奏でる哀愁漂う旋律にのせて、編笠をかぶった踊り手たちが優雅に舞いながら練り歩きます。ぼんぼりの灯りに照らされた坂の町の町並みと、しなやかな踊りが織りなす光景は、日本情緒あふれる幻想的な雰囲気に包まれます。地元の各町内が守り伝えてきた踊りと唄が、初日から夜遅くまで坂の町に響き渡ります。
Tips
期間中は大変混雑するため、よい場所で見たい場合は早めに沿道へ向かいましょう。坂道が多いのでベビーカーでの移動は歩きやすいルートを選ぶのが安心です。夜は山あいの町らしく気温が下がることもあるので、羽織ものを用意しておくと快適です。
Tips
Walking or driving from Kenmyoji Temple is convenient. The interior focuses on displays, so comfortable clothing is fine. If there are hands-on experience programs, confirm the timing in advance for smooth scheduling.
Best time to visit
Takes about 45 minutes. Afternoon hours are relatively peaceful for viewing.
