About this spot
A museum tracing the history of Kanie Town, located in the lower reaches of the Kiso Three Rivers, with deep connections to water transportation and flood control since ancient times. Exhibits also include information about the town's life as a prosperous water village and festival culture including the Sunaoshi Festival, deepening understanding of the festival venue we will visit later. The intimate museum is an enjoyable size even if you look around carefully without lingering long, making it suitable for family visits.

冨吉建速神社と八剱社の祭礼として400年以上続く須成祭は、国の重要無形民俗文化財にも指定されている由緒ある夏祭りです。2026年は8月1日(土)・2日(日)の開催で、その初日を訪れます。夜になると提灯で飾られた車楽船が蟹江川をゆっくりと進み、川面に映る無数の灯りが幻想的な景色をつくり出します。木曽三川流域の水郷ならではの祭りの形を、家族でじっくりと眺めることができる貴重な機会です。屋台の有無は年によって異なるため、この日は事前に済ませた夕食を思い出しながら、静かに川祭りの雰囲気を味わうのがおすすめです。

川沿いの見物スペースは限られるため、早めの場所取りが安心です。夜は足元が暗くなるため、懐中電灯やスマートフォンのライトがあると安心です。周辺は交通規制がかかることがあるため、公共交通機関や徒歩でのアクセスがおすすめです。
