A massive rock formation, about 30 meters tall, towering toward the sea at Kumejima's northern tip. Also known as the married-couple rock, it's cherished as the island's leading power spot thanks to legends of matchmaking and fertility associated with it. The view from the cliffs, against which rough waves crash, is breathtaking — a landscape that lets you feel Kumejima's magnificent nature.
Tips
Just under a 10-minute drive from Tatami-ishi. Be careful not to go beyond the fence at the viewing area. Wind is often strong, so watch that your hat doesn't blow away.
Best time to visit
About 30 minutes. Even in the strong midday sun, the shadows on the rugged rock surface are clearly visible.
