About this spot

This hillside is said to have been the site of the Uto clan's castle during the medieval period, and today it has been developed into a lush, green park. Remnants of earthen ramparts and stone walls from that era still remain, and simply walking through the quiet grove lets you feel the history of the castle town of Uto. From the hilltop you can look out over the city, and it's a nice spot to gaze toward the shopping street that will host the evening festival while reflecting on the origins of this land. With plenty of shade even in summer, it's a pleasantly cool place to spend time.

Tips

There is a gentle uphill slope from the parking area. Some sections have uneven footing, so wear comfortable walking shoes.

Best time to visit

About 45 minutes. Early afternoon, when there is plenty of shade, is the most comfortable time to visit.
