A hilltop where the Uto clan once had their residence during the medieval period is now maintained as a lush green park. Some of the earthen ramparts and stone walls that tell of those times remain, and simply walking through the quiet woods lets you feel the history of Uto castle town. From the elevated plateau, you can overlook the Uto city center, and it's pleasant to gaze in the direction of the shopping arcade, which will become the festival venue in the evening, while reflecting on the formation of this land. The abundance of shade even in summer makes it a comfortable place to spend time.

宇土市の中心市街地一帯を会場に開かれる、地域に長く受け継がれてきた地蔵盆の伝統行事です。2026年は8月23日の開催で、商店街の家々や店先では、思い思いに趣向を凝らして飾られたお地蔵さまが並び、通りを歩くだけで夏の夕暮れらしい情緒に包まれます。日が落ちるにつれて提灯の灯りがともり、地元の人々や家族連れでにぎわう商店街は、普段とは違う特別な雰囲気に変わっていきます。荒天の場合は翌日に順延される予定で、地域に根づいた素朴で温かいまつりの空気を味わえます。

荒天時は翌日に順延される場合があるため、当日の天候情報を確認しておきましょう。商店街は歩行者でにぎわうため、ベビーカーは通りやすいルートを選ぶと安心です。
