A historic shopping street extending about 600 meters near the Mibarat River that flows through central Nanao. Long-established shops selling Japanese candles, kelp, soy sauce, Japanese sweets, and more continue their business as they have for generations, and wooden storefronts with registered tangible cultural properties remain on the street. Peeking into shop windows and chatting with shop owners is enjoyable, allowing you to feel the daily life of Nanao as a port town. It offers a distinctly different, more refined street experience compared to the bustle of the market.
Tips
It's about a 15-minute walk from the Noto Food Festival Market on flat terrain. Since each shop has different closing days, confirming operating hours for shops of interest is reassuring. Small Japanese sweets and kelp products make affordable souvenirs. Some shops accept cash only, so having small change is convenient.

Allow approximately 1 hour. Mid-afternoon is when the street is quietest, making it ideal for leisurely browsing the shops.
