群馬県内でも屈指の規模を誇る都市祭りで、中心市街地一帯を舞台に総踊りや山車の巡行、各種パレードなどが繰り広げられます。2026年は8月22日・23日の2日間開催され、法被姿の踊り手たちが軽快な音楽に合わせて通りを踊り歩く総踊りは祭りいちばんの見どころです。夜には花火が打ち上げられる年もあり、都市の中心で夏の熱気を存分に味わえる祭りとして地元でも人気があります。日が暮れるにつれて通りは提灯や照明で彩られ、家族連れから若者まで幅広い世代で賑わいます。

Tips
