This Nichiren-sect temple was built as the family temple of the Omura clan, the lords of the Omura domain, and the neatly arranged graves of successive lords form a precious landscape conveying Omura's history to this day. The long approach and quiet grounds have a calm atmosphere, perfect for a moment of rest before the evening's liveliness. Take your time gazing at the historic temple buildings and the stone monuments at the graves, and spend a moment reflecting on the history of the Omura domain.

Tips

Within walking distance of Omura Park. Since the grounds are also a place of daily religious life, please observe manners and view quietly. Summer sunlight is strong, so bringing a drink is reassuring.

Best time to visit

About 45 minutes. The soft afternoon light lets you calmly savor the atmosphere of the approach.
