2026年は8月4日から8日まで、五所川原市内中心市街地で夜19時から巨大な立佞武多が練り歩きます。高さ約23m・重さ約19tにもなる山車がビルの合間を進む姿はスケールが桁違いで、「ヤッテマレ」の掛け声とともに引き手たちが力強く曳く様子は圧巻です。もとは電線の敷設で一度姿を消した巨大山車を、地元の熱意で電線を地中化してまで復活させた歴史があり、街を挙げての祭りへの思いが今も込められています。灯りをまとった立佞武多が夜の街を照らしながら進む光景は、津軽の夏を締めくくるにふさわしい迫力です。
Tips
コース沿いは早い時間から場所取りが始まります。良い場所で見たい場合は18時台には沿道に着いておくと安心です。祭り期間中は周辺道路が通行止めになるため、公共交通機関の利用がおすすめです。
Tips
Minutes by foot or car from Shayokan. The park offers abundant shade, making summer comfortable. However, as the grounds include a lake, supervise young children closely.
Best time to visit
Plan for about 45 minutes. With luck, you may witness the Tsugaru Railway train passing through.
