Like a local kitchen marketplace, it carries a wide selection including fresh fish and shellfish unloaded at Hachinohe Port, as well as vegetables and prepared dishes. Inside the market, "Shichirin Village" has a unique setup where you can grill fresh seafood you've purchased right on the spot, offering a fun family cooking experience. It's also convenient for souvenir shopping and is a popular spot for a quick bite between festival viewing.

2026年は7月31日から8月4日まで開催される、国の重要無形民俗文化財にも指定された東北屈指の夏祭りです。おがみ神社をはじめとする三つの神社の神輿渡御に合わせて、氏子各町内が趣向を凝らした豪華な山車を繰り出し、からくり仕掛けで動く人形や迫力ある造形が観客を沸かせます。笛・太鼓・手振り鉦によるお囃子に乗って山車が練り歩く様子は、街全体が一体となって作り上げる夏の一大絵巻です。
Tips
中心街は開始前から大勢の見物客で賑わうため、良い場所で見たいなら16時台から沿道に着いておくと安心です。周辺道路は通行規制がかかるので、公共交通機関の利用がおすすめです。ベビーカーの場合は後方や広い交差点付近が見やすいです。
Tips
About 10 minutes by car from Ogami Shrine. There is an additional charcoal fee for using Shichirin Village. An insulated bag is recommended if bringing seafood back with you.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 10 minutes. It gets crowded with tourists in the early afternoon, so allow extra time for your visit.
