About this spot

A spring group boasting some of Japan's highest water transparency, formed when rain and snow that fell on Mt. Fuji emerge after many years underground. Looking down from the observation deck, you'll see an enchanting sight of aquatic plants swaying in the crystal-blue water. Since water temperature remains constant even in summer, standing at the waterside offers a refreshing coolness, making it perfect for a family break.

2026年は8月15日から17日まで開催される、三嶋大社の例大祭に合わせた伊豆地方最大級の夏祭りです。三嶋大社前から三島広小路駅前にかけての三島大通りを舞台に、彫刻の施された豪華な山車が「しゃぎり」と呼ばれるお囃子とともに練り歩き、勇壮な手筒花火が夜空に火柱を上げます。三島囃子の音色と熱気に包まれた通りは大勢の見物客で埋め尽くされ、水の都・三島の夏を象徴する一大イベントです。

Tips

大通り沿いは開始前から場所取りが始まります。手筒花火は火の粉が飛ぶことがあるため、係員の案内に従い十分距離を取って見物しましょう。周辺は大規模な交通規制がかかるため公共交通機関の利用がおすすめです。

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from Rakujuen Park. Walkways are maintained, but direct entry into the river is not allowed—view from the observation deck. Insects are common in summer, so insect repellent is recommended.
