Susaki Bay Alive with Offshore Fireworks and Dragon Canoe Races

About this spot

Susaki Matsuri 2026 takes place August 1-2 (Saturday-Sunday), centered at Fuji-ga-hama in Susaki City. Opening day's highlight is the Dragon Canoe races, where paddlers compete in powerful displays as shouts echo across the evening bay. As darkness falls, offshore fireworks light up Susaki Bay; explosions echo off surrounding mountains while brilliant bursts fill the night sky, marking the grand finale of Susaki's summer. The impressive fireworks, so close to the sea, are a major draw of Susaki Matsuri.
