A shrine dedicated to Shimazu Tadayoshi (Nisshin-ko), who laid the foundation for the Shimazu clan in Satsuma during the Sengoku period. The "Iroha Poem" (いろは歌) left by Tadayoshi is still incorporated into local school education today, making this a cherished place with deep historical significance to Kaseda residents. The verdant shrine grounds offer a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, providing the perfect time for families to pay their respects unhurriedly before the evening festival festivities. The shrine is conveniently close to Yumepika-dori, making it easy to visit on festival day.

2026年の「かせだゆめぴか本町七夕まつり」は8月5日(水)から7日(金)までの3日間、17時から21時にかけて、加世田本町ゆめぴか通りを歩行者天国にして開催されます。このコースでは、まつりが始まる初日を主役に据えて1日を組み立てました。商店街の頭上には色とりどりの七夕飾りが飾られ、地元の人々でにぎわう通りには屋台が並びます。歩行者天国になった通りを、七夕飾りを見上げながらゆっくり歩けるのがこのまつりの魅力です。地域に根ざした夏の風物詩として、毎年多くの家族連れでにぎわいます。

Tips

まつり期間中は加世田本町ゆめぴか通りが歩行者天国になるため、周辺道路の交通規制に注意しましょう。屋台での食べ歩きには小銭があると便利です。夜は人通りが増えるため、小さな子どもとははぐれないよう手をつないで歩くと安心です。
