A shrine dedicated to Shimazu Tadayoshi (Nisshin-ko), who laid the foundation for the Shimazu clan in Satsuma during the Sengoku period. The "Iroha Poem" (いろは歌) left by Tadayoshi is still incorporated into local school education today, making this a cherished place with deep historical significance to Kaseda residents. The verdant shrine grounds offer a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, providing the perfect time for families to pay their respects unhurriedly before the evening festival festivities. The shrine is conveniently close to Yumepika-dori, making it easy to visit on festival day.

Tips

Some parts of the shrine grounds are unpaved, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. In summer, the shade from trees is pleasant, making it ideal for a short rest during your visit. Parking is limited, so consider walking during busy hours.

Best time to visit

Approximately 50 minutes. Early afternoon when the daytime heat begins to ease is most comfortable for visiting.
