Built alongside Nishi no Shosoin, this building is said to be modeled on a royal palace of Baekje. Its exotic vermilion-toned exterior and meticulously maintained garden are striking, creating a unique landscape that evokes the ancient Korean Peninsula in a mountain town. Inside, you can learn about the legend of the Baekje royal family passed down here, as well as the region's history and culture.

Tips

Within walking distance of Nishi no Shosoin. Taking your time to view the building and garden can take a while, so allow plenty of time in your schedule. In summer, taking breaks in the shade makes for a more comfortable visit.

About 45 minutes. Early afternoon tends to have fewer tourists, allowing for a relaxed visit
