This covered shopping arcade stretches roughly 800 meters south from Musashi-Koyama Station. Because it has a roof, you can walk without worrying about the summer sun or a sudden shower, which families with children will appreciate. Delicatessens, bakeries and Japanese sweet shops stand side by side, so you can gather both lunch and afternoon snacks in one place. It is large for a shopping street in central Tokyo, and just walking through it conveys the liveliness of the neighborhood. Rinshi-no-Mori Park is within walking distance, so it feels natural to spread out your purchases on a park bench.

Tips

Bicycles also pass through the arcade, so hold your child's hand as you walk. Once the shopping is done, eating something light before the water play is the safer choice. There are no trash cans in the park, so gather your wrappings into a bag to take home. Avoid entering the water right after eating; waiting 20 to 30 minutes before heading off to change is safer.
