Meguro Parasitological Museum (目黒寄生虫館)

Located in Shimo-Meguro, Meguro City, this is a specialist museum devoted solely to parasites, a rarity even by world standards. The building is a modest two stories, but the specimens and explanations are so densely packed that time slips by before you notice. For children, the real reward is being able to take in how living bodies work and why hygiene matters far more vividly than any textbook allows. Admission is free, and the museum is run on donations and sales of museum goods. It makes a fine stop for cool indoor air and intellectual stimulation before the afternoon water play.

林試の森公園ジャブジャブ池は、品川区の林試の森公園にある無料の水遊び場です。2026年のシーズンは7/1(水)〜9/30(水)、時間は10:00〜14:50で、午前の部10:00〜11:50と午後の部13:00〜14:50の入替制になっています。この公園はもと林業試験場で、園内には各地から集められた大木が育っており、水遊び場のまわりにも日陰が多いのが大きな特長です。強い日差しを避けながら休憩できるので、小さな子ども連れでも体力を削られにくく過ごせます。料金は無料で、園内にはトイレもあります。着替え場所はないため、水着を下に着ていくかタオルポンチョを用意しておくと支度がスムーズです。

Tips

毎週木曜(7/2を除く)は点検清掃のため休止します。荒天時や気温25℃以下の日は中止になるので、出発前に公式のお知らせで開設状況を確認してください。午前の部と午後の部の入替制なので、13:00の午後の部に合わせて入ると最後まで遊べます。着替え場所はありません。日陰は多い公園ですが、水分補給はこまめに行ってください。

Tips

Admission is free, but the museum is supported by donations, so contributing to the donation box is encouraged. The interior is small and has stairs, so leaving the stroller near the entrance makes moving around easier. Check the closing days and opening hours on the official website in advance. Given the nature of the exhibits, do not force a squeamish child to look; letting them choose only the displays that interest them is about the right distance.
